Bogotá D.C., november 2021: As of November 2, 2021, Ana Cristina Jaramillo, lawyer from Los Andes and Magister from Harvard University and Imperial College London, accredited to practice law in the State of New York in 2008, assumed the position of partner of Mergers and Acquisitions practice in Gómez – Pinzón. With her arrival, the M&A team becomes the practice with the highest female participation in the Colombian market.

This lawyer with 17 years of experience began her professional career in Gómez-Pinzón, where she worked for more than 7 years as a senior associate.
Before joining the firm as a Partner, Ana Cristina served as Managing Partner of the M&A and Corporate Law Department of the English firm Norton Rose Fulbright. She was also founder and co-director of the Mergers & Acquisitions area for a recognized foreign firm starting its operations in Colombia, and previously served as Manager of Government Affairs of Drummond Ltd. the multinational mining and hydrocarbons company.
Ana Cristina also worked as an associate at Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP in its New York office. She specializes in Corporate Law, Commercial Law, Mergers and Acquisitions and Capital Markets, focused on transactional advice to clients in their business matters.

Ana Cristina has participated and advised numerous and important transactions in the Colombian market, as was the case of the financing rounds with foreign investors of Merqueo S.A.S; the purchase of a minority stake from Itochu Corp by Drummond Ltd; the purchase of a majority stake in OMA by the Mesoamerica private equity fund; the acquisition by Biomax from the shareholders of Brío Colombia S.A. through a public acquisition offer (PAO) on the public stock market; the secondary issuance of shares in the public securities market of Ecopetrol; the placement of JP Morgan & Bancolombia in Ecopetrol’s initial public offering of shares; the sale of Granbanco-Bancafé to the Davivienda bank and the merger through which SABMiller acquired control of Bavaria Deal, among others.
