The Bank of the Republic through the Bulletin 8 of February 28, 2020, published the External Resolution No. 1 of 2020 by which it modified the External Resolution No. 1 of 2018 of the Board of Directors of the Bank of the Republic in the sense of including the Territorial Development Fund “Financiera de Desarrollo Territorial (FINDETER)”, the Fund for the Financing of the Agricultural Sector “Fondo para el Financiamiento del Sector Agropecuario (FINAGRO)”, the Colombian Institute for Educational Credit and Technical Studies Abroad “Instituto Colombiano de Crédito Educativo y Estudios Técnicos en el Exterior (ICETEX)”, the National Company for the Promotion of Territorial Development “Empresa Nacional Promotora del Desarrollo Territorial (ENTerritorio)” and the National Savings Fund “Fondo Nacional del Ahorro (FNA)” as Exchange Market Intermediaries; and specified the exchange operations they may carry out.
Additionally, The Bank indicated that as of November 1, 2020 public rediscount entities that wish to develop exchange operations must be registered with the Bank of the Republic as Exchange Market Intermediaries.
