Decathlon, one of the largest department stores in the world, requested the registration of its signature brand Quechua in Peru, to identify clothing, which is one of the store’s main products. However, it was detected that a third party had registered this brand under their name, making it impossible for Decathlon to pursue its registration and sell its products under this brand in Peru. Gómez-Pinzón designed and implemented the entire strategy that enabled Decathlon to recover ownership over its brand, which entailed administrative procedures with the Brand Office of Peru., as well as cancellation processes and the negotiation with said third party, until the brand’s ownership was finally restored to Decathlon.
