Gómez-Pinzón Abogados, acting as local legal counsel, advised the Inter-American Investment Corporation (IDB Invest), acting on behalf of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) in the subscription of the gender-focused social bonds issued by Banco Davivienda S.A. in the Colombian secondary market (segundo mercado) for COP$362,500,000,000 with a seven (7) -year maturity. The proceeds of the bonds will be used by the issuer in sub-loans to finance the purchase of social interest housing by women, and to finance women-led small and medium-sized enterprises in Colombia. This is the first gender-focused social bond in South America aligned with international standards, and the world’s first gender-focused, outcome-based social bond, as part of the Women Entrepreneurs Financing Incentive (We-Fi), which is an international alliance that aims to unlock financing and provide women-led companies access to markets .
