Bogotá, August 19, 2020 – Gómez-Pinzón Abogados advised Nuevomundo Private Equity Fund – Nuevomundo I Compartment in the sale of one hundred percent (100%) of its fiduciary rights in the Calima Centro Comercial Trust and in the Calima Bogotá Leasing Trust at Compartment One of the Mallplaza Private Capital Fund , a transaction that included the acquisition of a loan granted by Banco Davivienda by the buyer. The value of the transaction was not disclosed.

Through this transaction, which took place in a record time of a month and a half after starting the negotiations between the parties and involved multiple third parties, the acquisition by Mallplaza of approximately four hundred and forty (440) properties corresponding to shops and commercial establishments in the Calima Shopping Center, and the economic rights derived from the lease contracts on said properties. This acquisition also marks the arrival of Mallplaza to the country’s capital, and will allow the entry of the Ikea brand to the Colombian market.

Gómez-Pinzón accompanied Nuevomundo in all aspects and negotiations of the transaction, including complex matters related to Mergers and Acquisitions , Tax Law and Law Real Estate . The GPA team was led by partner Mauricio Piñeros , as well as by associates Juan Pablo Caicedo De Castro and Juan Pablo Arenas .
