The Technology, Communications & amp; Gómez-Pinzón Abogados Data Protection reminds you that no later than August 25, 2020 you must comply with the mandatory update of the information of the databases registered in the system of the National Registry of Databases of the SIC (or “ RNBD “) through the reporting of claims made by holders of personal data during the first semester of the 2020.

In accordance with Decree 090 of January 18, 2018, the RNBD update proceeds in the following events:

  1. In the first fifteen (15) business days of August 2020 , the mandatory update must be anticipated for the purpose of reporting claims made by holders of personal data during the first half of 2020.

The report must consolidate the claims submitted by the Holders to the respective Responsible for Treatment. This report should include information such as the amount, type and detail of claims.

Responsible parties obliged to comply with the RNBD must make this update within the first fifteen (15) business days of the months of February and August of each year, on the claims received the previous semester.

  1. An update of the information recorded in the RNBD must be made annually, between January 2 and March 31 of each year, which, for the year 2020, was extended until July 3 , on the occasion of the health emergency derived from Covid-19.
  1. When there are substantial changes in the information consigned in the RNBD, the update must be done within the first ten (10) business days of the month following that such change has occurred.
  1. When a new database is generated, the update by which this new database is included must be done within two (2) months after its creation.

On the other hand, keep in mind the Managers and Managers are obliged to report to the SIC when a security incident occurs.
