In response to a complaint presented by the Directorate of Agricultural and Forestry Chains of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, this Friday, June 11, 2020, the Superintendency of Industry and Commerce, as the national authority on technical regulations and legal metrology , opened an investigation to 274 market agents for an alleged breach of the price report for the marketing of agrochemicals.

According to a statement published by the Superintendency of Industry and Commerce, the alleged offenders failed to comply with the obligation to report the prices of fertilizers, chemical pesticides for agricultural use, veterinary drugs, and biological products for livestock use, national or imported. It is worth mentioning that the agents investigated are in the departments of Antioquia, Arauca, Atlántico, Bolívar, Boyacá, Caldas, Caquetá, Casanare, Cauca, Cesar, Chocó, Córdoba, Cundinamarca, Guaviare, Huila, La Guajira, Magdalena, Meta, Norte of Santander, Nariño, Putumayo, Risaralda, Santander, Sucre, Tolima and Valle del Cauca, as well as in the city of Bogotá.

In the event that this authority finds that those investigated violated the legal metrology regime and technical regulations, they could be sanctioned with fines of up to 2,000 minimum legal monthly wages in force, which is equivalent to a sum of 1,755,606,000 pesos. .

Although there are no appeals against the administrative act of opening the investigation, each of the investigated agents may present charges and exercise their right of defense throughout the process.
