Mauricio has over 28 years of professional experience. His Intellectual Property practice centers on advising Colombian and international companies in the definition of protection and administration strategies for IP portfolios, the structuring and definition of innovation strategies, advice in the exploitation of IP rights, and in the negotiation of IP rights exploitation contracts via licensing, franchising and other type of agreements. His practice in the Competition area focuses on advising companies vis-à-vis the development of their commercial activities and the effects they may have from a competition viewpoint, including unfair trade practices, unfair competition, consumer rights, as well as merger control regulations. He has taught Intellectual Property and Competition Law at Universidad Javeriana in undergraduate and graduate programs.
