The Restorative Justice for Juveniles program is a roadmap that allows juvenile offenders to repair the harm they have caused through their actions and thus put an end to their criminal prosecution based on the principle of opportunity.
The program has achieved the lowest percentage of recidivism. With this roadmap, the offender is held accountable, there is direct reparation to the victim, and indirect or symbolic reparations are made to the community. Furthermore, children and adolescents are reintegrated into society by showing them a solid life project away from crime.
The role of Gómez-Pinzón’s team is to represent and provide assistance for children and adolescents in the process of achieving the program’s objectives.
