By means of Resolution No. MTOP – DVGT – 2020 – 0001 – R of the Ministry of Transportation and Public Works of Ecuador, issued on March 15, 2020, the international public transport of passengers is suspended countrywide, starting on midnight, March 16, 2020 and ending on April 5 of the same year. This measure applies to ground, aerial and maritime transport, involving non-resident foreigners who intend to enter the country. Transport of cargo and merchandise is not affected by the decision, but in order to enter the country through border crossings, ports and airports, carriers must comply with the sanitary procedures implemented by health authorities in Ecuador.
